Note: Roughly 1/2 of the western United States is available for processing. See the image at the bottom of this page.

Note: This is an educational exercise to show students how to write a full stack research web page. Please refer to our Disclaimer for more information. If you are interested in participating in this project please contact agrineer at agrineer.org.

Grow Degrees for the Location and Rundates provided:
Temps (celsius)
Location (dec. deg)
Rundates (yyyymmdd)

Enter the base and upper temperatures for the organism of interest (crop or insect), and location. The start and end date format is YYYYMMDD (eg. 20170312 for March 12, 2017 ). Valid input dates are from 2017-01-01 through 2019-05-30.

Reported calculations use the daily 3.3km WRF minimum and maximum temperature data. The images show the accumulated grow degrees at 3.3km, 10km and 30km resolutions for the rundates.

Climate data is derived from the Weather Research and Forecasting program calculated on an hourly basis at 3.3km, 10km and 30km resolutions and reported as accumulated daily values. Re-analyzed forcing files are used in a "hindcast" manner and the rendered images show these atmospheric surface loads at the 3 resolutions over the given time period. Use the mouse to hover over the images with a mouse to get pixel values.

Available sectors for processing are shown in the green shaded areas above. For more information see the 'Sectors' section in the WRF Hindcast wiki page.
